Kathy Peake was born and raised in Florida and later moved to Virginia during her high school years. She graduated from Mary Washington College (now the University of Mary Washington) in Fredericksburg, Virginia, in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a minor in Mathematics—just three credits shy of a double major. Shortly after college, she joyfully taught high school chemistry, where her love for teaching and connecting with students first took root. Over the years, she has lived in nine different states across this beautiful country, with Virginia and Arizona feeling most like home.

An entrepreneur at heart, Kathy has built and led several successful businesses. In 2001, she founded The Peake Financial Group, where she continues to serve as CEO. She holds Series 6, 63, and 65 registrations, as well as life insurance licenses. Drawing from her experience as a business owner, teacher, mother, “Grammy,” and long-time financial and insurance advisor, Kathy specializes in helping divorcees and widows build confidence, security, and clarity as they make informed decisions about their investments and financial futures.

Kathy is the proud mother of three adult children, their wonderful partners, four cherished grandchildren, and seven “grand-dogs” spread across the country. At home, she is faithfully accompanied by her ten-year-old pug, Bebop, who happily joins her on most of life’s adventures.

Deeply committed to uplifting women, Kathy is active in eWomenNetwork—formerly serving as Managing Director for Tucson, Phoenix, and Northern Colorado, and now supporting the Tucson Leadership Team. As a three-time #1 bestselling author and a founding author of the Empowering Women Alliance, she continues to grow her skills while helping build a community where women can be fully self-expressed, confident, and unapologetically powerful.

Kathy is also a frequent podcast guest, an engaged member of her church community, and an active participant in several Tucson-area organizations, including 4Tucson. And when she isn’t writing, speaking, or empowering women, she jokes that she “does nothing at all—except read and do puzzles.
